Danene Harkness, 62, Minot, ND, passed away Monday, July 6, 2015, at Trinity Hospital in Minot.

Danene Marie Kuncio was born March 9, 1953, in Buffalo, NY, a twin daughter to Stanley and Gloria (Abramowski) Kuncio. She was raised in Buffalo and attended public school there. She attended and graduated from Eden Central School in Eden, NY. She then attended and graduated from Buffalo State University.

Danene was active in volunteer activities associated with the Buffalo chapter of the 700 Club.

After moving to Minot, she became a member of the North Dakota Association of the Blind and enjoyed attending meetings and events, and would give speeches to social groups and conventions.

Danene loved God, her family, and her cats, Spring and April. Danene and her twin sister, Cheryl Johnson, cherished a mutually loving relationship in which they defined their relationship as, “sisters forever” and more personally still, “Nene and Cheri forever, together with Jesus”.

Danene loved to read, visit with her sister and friends, and would be thrilled whenever she could listen to bird songs. Christmas was especially exciting for her, as she loved to give and to celebrate the Lord’s birth.

Surviving family includes: brother-in-law, Darrel Johnson, Burlington, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Gloria Kuncio; twin sister, Cheryl Johnson; maternal grandparents, Alois and Lottie Abramowski; paternal grandparents, Michael and Sophie Kuncio.
